About Smiley
Smiley grew up on a horse ranch in the southwestern town of Scottsdale, AZ born from Puerto Rican parents. His grandfather played bohemian folkloric music and taught him classical guitar.
His journey playing country music began in 2002 when he started recording at legend Glen Campbell's home studio in downtown Phoenix. Later, Smiley would spend several years in his ancestral home of Puerto Rico where he captured his Latin roots on his first album Trio Velazquez "Deep Midwest".
Recently, Smiley recorded a Texas made album, "Keep Smiling" thanks to a grant from the City of Austin Live Music Fund from the Economic Department of Development. The release event was at the Puerto Rican Cultural Center in East Austin. Click below to listen now!
