Charleston Tour ‘22

Hey kids,

I’m going to Charleston, SC this week to play some shows with my partner in crime, Marty Sierra, special guests, my ole bandmate Tripp Livingston, and friends. Y’all come say howdy!

I’m doing a couple of senior gigs but here are a couple of shows that are open to the public:

Fri, Feb 18th 7p-10p at Southern Roots Smokehouse (Savannah Hwy)

Sun, Feb 20th 2p-5p at The Crab Shack (Folly Beach)

I cut my teeth in the late ‘00s/early ‘10s in Charleston, SC playing at open mics like the one my pal David Gunstra ran at The Folly Beach Crab Shack, doing my first professional gigs, starting up bands and writing songs with Sam Stringfield, and getting to see young comedians Dusty Slay and Evan Berke work on their craft at the Upper Deck Tavern on Monday nights.

These experiences in my early 20s have shaped and influenced me to this day. I cherish my time in Charleston and can’t wait to go back with a new perspective and to show everyone “how they do it in Texas” ha!

I’ll be posting pictures and videos on my tour on the “Media” tab of my website. After the Charleston tour I’m making a bop in the first week of March in Austin, TX with my brother Johnny McGowan. It’s been about four months since I’ve been back, really looking forward to it. Thanks again and cheers!-MV
